Obituary

Jillio A. “Chickie” DeVito passed away on July 14, 2013. He was 93 years old.

Chickie grew up in Everett and was a longtime resident of Malden. He worked for Nabisco Company for 25 years and retired from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1985 as a Facilities Mechanic. Chickie was a devoted Red Sox fan and a United States Coast Guard Veteran during World War II.

Chickie was the devoted husband of 67 years to Lillian (Silva) DeVito. He was the beloved father of Linda Klien of Salem, NH and the late Marilyn Ferro and her husband Joseph of Melrose. Chickie was the brother of Albert of Melrose and Guido of Tewksbury. He was the cherished grandfather of Michele Zawadski, Cindy Bomba, Michael Kane, Leanne Dishion and Joseph Ferro. He was the great grandfather of Michael, Jacob, Connor, Lindsay, Joshua, Chelsea, Kaden, Ethan, Nathan & Kaelyn. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.

The funeral will be held from the A.J.Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street Malden on Thursday July 18th at 8:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church 770 Salem Street Malden at 9:00am. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4-8pm. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
