Leonard L. Bourque
Retired Tewksbury Carpenter

TEWKSBURY: Leonard L. "Lenny" Bourque, age 68, a resident of Tewksbury for 40 years, passed away at the Wingate of Belvidere in Lowell on Wednesday, July 10, 2013.
He was the beloved husband of 45 years to Theresa M. (Bourgeois) Bourque.
Born in Sluice Point, Nova Scotia, Canada on March 15, 1945, he was the son of the late Mae Catherine (Martell) Bourque and the late Anselme "Lawson" Bourque.
"Lenny" was raised in Sluice Point, Nova Scotia, where he attended local schools.
At age 18, he came to the United States. He resided in the Lynn area until moving to Tewksbury in 1973.
In 1965, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Lenny served during the Vietnam War aboard the U.S.S. BASILONE and was awarded several decorations for his military service including the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.
Prior to his illness, he worked as a self-employed Carpenter for over 35 years.
Lenny loved to fish and also enjoyed a good game of cribbage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Wayne D. Bourque and his wife Melissa of Augusta, ME and Suzanne T. Grecco and her husband Charles of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Lauren & Olivia Bourque and Christopher & Thomas Grecco; three sisters, Georgina Pitman and her husband Wayne of Oshawa, Ontario, Marcella Babin and her husband Earl of Sluice Point, Nova Scotia, and Patricia Scoville and her husband Randy of Hubbard's Point, Nova Scotia; also many nieces and nephews.
Lenny was the grandfather of the late Julia Bourque and brother of the late Michael Bourque. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Funeral Mass on Monday, July 15, at 11:30 a.m. in St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. At the request of the family there are No Calling Hours.
