Claire I. Souders 82, of Carnation St., died Thursday at RI Hospital. She was the wife of Charles H. Souders. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Eva (Baril) Bourassa. Claire was a stitcher for the former Uni-Royal Co. for twenty years, until they closed. She then went back to school and became a LPN and worked at Fatima Hospital for several years. She enjoyed cooking, reading, traveling and gardening.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Brian Souders of Glendale, and Craig Souders and his wife Denise of Nottingham, NH, a daughter Karen Nordelo of Fort Pierce, FL, two sisters, Lorraine Bourassa of Woonsocket and Jeanne Massey. She also leaves four grandchildren, Megan and Molly Nordelo and Ian and Robert Souders.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery in Woonsocket.
