Rose A. Pappas Card, age 65, passed away on June 22nd, 2013 in Palm Bay, FL after a long battle with lung cancer. She was born on January 6th, 1948 in Winchester, MA to Peter and Marie (Connolly) Pappas.
Rose grew up in Woburn and Tewksbury, MA. She graduated from Tewksbury High School class of 1965. She later attended 4 years of college at North Adams State College where she was the class treasurer and received her Bachelors of Science. She lived her adult life among Miami, FL; Lowell, MA; Chelmsford, MA; Hollis, NH and Palm Bay, FL. She worked for many years as quality assurance manager in the medical device industry. Her jobs included time at Dade in Miami, FL; Instrumentation Laboratory in Bedford, MA; Charm Sciences in Malden; Medisense in Bedford, MA, and Boston Scientific in Marlboro, MA. She dedicated much time to fighting Juvenile Diabetes as well as Cancer through various volunteer and charity organizations. She then retired in 2008.
Rose married Richard Card in 1980 in Tewksbury, MA. They were happily married for 33 years. In addition to her beloved husband Richard, She is survived by her son, Peter Card and his wife Courtney of Pepperell, MA, her loving mother Marie Pappas of Woburn. She was the cherished sister of Sonny Pappas of Haverhill, Sherry Georgoulakos and her husband Charles of Amherst, NH, Thomas Pappas and his wife Debbie of Waterford, VA, as well as many nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
A Funeral mass will be celebrated in St Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge St., Woburn, Tuesday, July 16th, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Rose's memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
