Gerald “Jerry” J. Parker, 60, of Tifton died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Greg Hester will give a eulogy with a private burial to be held at a later date. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Parker was born on February 18, 1953 in Port Huron, Michigan and was the son of James Ivan Parker and Eleanor Taylor Parker, both deceased. He retired from Prestolite Wire after 25 years of employment.
Jerry will be sadly missed by his family in Michigan and his many dear friends in Georgia, among them Ken Spurlin, Kyp Knotts, Rhonda Tillery, Terri Evans, Connie Carter and Bill Krebs. Jerry’s many varied interests included a love for Halloween and decorating his front yard for the enjoyment of all who came to see it.
Mr. Parker is survived by his wife of 32 years, Martha J. Lent Parker of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Judy Parker of Saint Clair, Michigan; one sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Tom Gillian of Fort Gratiot, Michigan; and many other family members.
