Marie McEwen, 85, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Life Care Center in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. McEwen was born February 7, 1928, in Irwin County, Georgia to the late Ambrose Mitchell and Nancy Ann Gibbs Powell. She was a former supervisor for Y & W Sportswear and H.R. Kaminsky & Sons. A member of Arbor Baptist Church, she was active in Sunday school and the WMU. Mrs. McEwen loved the children in her neighborhood and enjoyed interacting with her neighbors.
She is survived by a son: Tony McEwen of Alpharetta, Georgia as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Lanier W. McEwen and ten brothers and sisters.
