SALEM- Marjorie C. (Brouillette) Bannick, age 91, died peacefully, Monday, August 23, 2004 at her home in Salem, MA.
Born in Seattle, Washington, she was the wife of the late Col. John H. Bannick, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage, and daughter of the late Ernest M. and Ethel E. Brouillette.
She graduated from Madrona Elementary School and Garfield High School in Seattle and attended the University of Washington, where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.
She was baptized according to the Rite of the Roman Catholic Church in 1965.
She was an Army wife who lived in Europe, Japan, and various cities in the United States. She was a professional photographer, who wrote and illustrated Wherever he Hung his Hat, a book of verses about military life. She was extremely well-read and could recite much poetry. Her French and Japanese language skills were useful when she and her husband were stationed in those countries.
She is remembered as steadfastly loyal to her husband and a gracious mother who instilled the love of life-long learning in her children, a fondness for the turn of a word or phrase, an unfortunate propensity for puns, and a favorable outlook on her fellow humans.
She was predeceased by her sister, Betty, and is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Col. Richard R. Bannick (USAF Ret.) and his wife Connie J. Bannick and John H. Bannick, Jr., grandchildren Sara and Jonathan Bannick, and many nieces and nephews.
