Peter A. Cavazzi Sr.

... US Navy Vet., truck repairman; 77

TEWKSBURY - Peter A. Cavazzi Sr., age 77, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, at his Tewksburyhome, after a two year battle with cancer. He was the husband of Gertrude E. (Tracy) Cavazzi,with whom he had celebrated a 54th wedding anniversary this past November.

He was born in Quincy, Dec. 19, 1926, a son of the late Albert and Nellie (Nicolai) Cavazzi. Hewas raised in Somerville, but had lived in Tewksbury since 1957.

During WW2, he served in the U.S. Navy.

In his earlier years, he owned a Mobil Service Station at four corners in Somerville. Later heworked as a truck repairman for Shawmut Transportation in Boston, and retired from RyderTruck Leasing Company in Woburn.

He was a member of the I.A.M., the International Association of Machinists and AerospaceWorkers, a former member of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks, and an avid bowler with the Elks.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, William A. Cavazzi ofMichigan, Peter A. and his wife Kim (Powers) Cavazzi Jr. of Dracut, Steven R. and his wifeVivian (McCartin) Cavazzi of Lowell; four grandchildren, Brian, Stacey, and Shannon Cavazzi,Shelly Stohler; three great grandchildren, Alyssia, Luke and Lanie Stohler; three sisters and twobrothers-in-law, Jennie and her husband Samuel Mancuso of CA, Mary and her husband AnthonyCitro of Somerville, Nancy Colatosti of Weston, and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral was Saturday, Aug. 28, in the funeral home. Interment followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery, No. Tewksbury.
