Marie Ann (Masce) Stirzaker, 79, of Franklin died Sunday, July 7, 2013 at her home after a long illness. She was the beloved wife of Francis J. Stirzaker.
Born in Norwood on August 19, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Angelo J. and Ann Marie (Erickson) Masce. She was a resident of Franklin for over 50 years.
Mrs. Stirzaker was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed watching the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics.
Spending time with her family was most important to her. She enjoyed attending her husband’s tractor pulls as well as all of her daughters’ equestrian events and dance recitals and her son’s motor cross. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s basketball, soccer, volleyball, little league and softball games as well as their dance recitals.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Michael Stirzaker of Franklin and four daughters, Susan Stuart and her husband Jack of Bellingham, Sharon Valentine and her husband Joe of Franklin, Mary Lemmler and her husband Craig of Medway and Anne Marolda of Franklin.
She is also survived by four grandchildren, Erron Geer and his wife Devoni, Rachael and Sarah Lemmler and Jessica Valentine and one great-granddaughter, Gabriella Geer.
She was the sister of the late Kenneth Massey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Thursday, July 11 at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
