Schelia Ray Simmons Dorminy, 67, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 2 PM, Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ben Hill County with the Rev. Fred Eister officiating.
Mrs. Dorminy was born, January 23, 1946 in Los Angeles, California to the late Winston Martin Simmons and the late Lelia Marie Cochran. She moved to Fitzgerald in 2012 after retiring from the health care industry in Florida. She enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts, and enjoyed God’s creation. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ben Hill County.
She is survived by her husband: Bobby Dorminy of Fitzgerald; three sons: Wayne Armstrong of Cherry Valley, Massachusetts, Dwight Tucker of Jackson, Mississippi and Ronnie Weatherton of Chiefland, Florida; one daughter: Melissa Dillon of Orlando, Florida; two brothers: Winston Simmons and Wayne Simmons of Chiefland, Florida; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
