Myrtle M. (Gray) Allen, 83, of Tiverton, passed away on Saturday June 29, 2013 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Edward W.C. Allen.
Born in Fall River and daughter of the late Ira E. Gray and Myrtle A. (Ward) Charest, she had resided in Tiverton since 1951. Prior to her retirement she worked as a stitcher for Lamport Bristol Knitting from 1970-1983. Mrs. Allen was a member of the RI Chapter I Ex Prisoner of War, Rebekah Social Lodge No.11and the Rebekah Assembly of Bristol, the Ladies Encampment Auxiliary Massasoit No. 8, the Noble Grange and the Little Compton Grange 32 and the Newport County Pomona.
Survivors along with her husband include 2 sisters: Gloria Anderson of Tiverton and Lucile Belanger of Fall River as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Muriel Perry.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Amicable Congregational Church on 3736 Main Rd., Tiverton at 11:00 A.M.
Interment will be private.
