West Newbury, Ma. – Mary L. Dunphy-Grelle, 71 died Wednesday July 3, 2013 surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with cancer at the Brigham and Woman’s Hospital in Boston.
Mary was born in Lawrence May 17, 1942 the daughter of the late John J. and Jeannette M. (Bergeron) Dunphy.
Mary was a graduate of St. Ann’s High School, Emmanuel College, Boston University, and Bryant University. For many years she was a Social Services Professional employed with the Deaconess Hospital in Boston.
Mary was a longtime Communicant of Saint Robert Bellarmine Church in Andover.
Professionally she was contracted by Hale Hospital, and was managing care director of Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital.
Survivors include her husband and best friend of 24 years; Patrick C. Grelle.
She is also survived by her sister Kathleen and her husband Joseph R. Landry of Tewksbury, Ma., brothers John J. Dunphy, of Montague, Ma., and Paul J. Dunphy of Lawrence, 3 stepdaughters; Mary Ellen Grelle of Haverhill, Laura J. and husband K. Jeffrey Pollard of Groton, Jennifer L. Grelle Laramee and Lorna Laramee of Florida, 3 grandchildren Haley, Morgan, and Kenneth Pollard all of Groton, sister-in-law Dorothy and husband Phillip Gagnon, brother-in-law Peter F. and his wife Angela Grelle.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock in St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Andover with burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Hampstead, NH.
Friends will be warmly received on Tuesday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street Methuen.
