Mr. Douglas C. Myers, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved husband of Kathleen M. (Shore) Myers, died at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Thursday, July 4, 2013 after a long illness. He was 64 years old. Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on August 15, 1948. Doug was the beloved son of the late Warren Clayton and Shirley (Patterson) Myers. He was a Sergeant for the Medford Special Police and was past President of their association. He was a past Steward of the Local 25 Teamsters Union. In his spare time, Doug was an avid Boston Bruins fan and acomplished musician.
Besides his beloved wife of 31 years, Kathleen, Doug will be missed by his step-mother; Mildred Jamison of Prince Edward Island, Canada, two sons; Douglas J. Myers of West Virginia and Scott K. Myers of North Andover, and the late Eric Myers; brother to Bruce Myers of Florida, and the late Kenneth and Richard Myers. Step sisters; Trudy Condon and Audrey Gormely, both of Prince Edward Island, Canada; sister-in-laws, Margaret A. Shore of Pennsylvania and Janice L. Shore and Mary-Theresa Shore, both of Somerville and dear friends; Lawrence J. and Lori A. James of Medford.
His funeral service was celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Visiting hours were held on Monday, July 8, 2013, from 4 to 8 PM.
