
Marie Isabel (Wells) Karklin, 96, of Manomet, died quietly at home on July 2, wife of the late Edward K. Karklin. Loving mother of Kim M. Wood, Edward K. Jr., Mary L. Coombs and Paul A. all of Manomet and Michael R. of Caloocan City (Philippines). She also leaves 8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a nephew, and 4 nieces. Sister of the late Jane W. Nugent.
Marie was born in Ironton, Ohio the daughter of Albert and Nell Wells. As her father worked for a railway, her family moved often and so Marie attended many schools, notably in Rosita, Mexico and San Francisco, CA. She graduated from Bridgewater State College and worked as a librarian/teacher for the Plymouth School Department at Manomet Elementary School and the Manomet Public Library, she also worked for the Faxon Company in Westwood as a Librarian. Marie has lived in Manomet for around 70 years. She loved to read and travel.
A graveside service will be held at the Manomet Cemetery on July 8th at 11:00 AM. There are no visiting hours and donations in Marie’s memory may be made to the 2nd Congregational Church of Plymouth, P.O. Box 1754, Manomet, MA 02345
