Obituary

Chanel Louis St. Jean, 59, of Auburn, NH died Monday August 23, 2004 in the Wentworth-Douglas Hospital, Dover, NH. Chanel was born in Lawrence, MA on December 17, 1944 a son of the late Phillipe and Aurea (Marquis) St. Jean. Chanel served his country in the US Navy from 1963-1967. He was employed with Sanders of Nashua, NH, Santek of Milford, NH and more recently was the owner and operator of local businesses including Servpro of Derry, NH and CASS Painting and Maintenance Services. Chanel served faithfully as a deacon at Island Pond Baptist Church in Hampstead, NH where he was active in building projects, music ministry and the general care and well being of the congregation. A man of deep faith and conviction, he lived as he believed and was a constant source of inspiration and help to those whom he knew and a friend to all in need. His family and friends will sorely miss his day to day presence, but take comfort knowing that he is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Derochers) St. Jean of Auburn, NH, two sons, Timothy St. Jean of Sandown, NH, Jason St. Jean and his wife Sarah of Chester, NH, one daughter, Christianne Karjala and her husband Edwin of Chester, NH, proud grandfather of Alexander, Lauren, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Andrew and Adam, two brothers, Donald St. Jean and his wife Joan of N. Andover, MA, John St. Jean and his wife Bernice of Deland, FL.

Funeral services will be held on Friday August 27th at 10:00am in the Island Pond Baptist Church, Hampstead, NH. Burial will follow in Great Hill Cemetery, Chester. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 - 8pm in the Island Pond Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Island Pond Baptist Church Missions Fund, 26 North Salem Rd., Hampstead, NH 03841. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Derry is handling arrangements.
