Bradfield J. Collins, 78, passed away at the Jupiter Medical Center, Jupiter Florida on Sunday, March 10, married for over 50 years to Marie (Larkin) of Medford and Florida.
Born in Malden, Brad made his home in Medford for over 70 years and enjoyed his winters in Florida. The son of the late Amelia and Richard Collins. He was raised in Medford, a graduate of Medford High School in 1941 and later graduated from University of Massachusetts in 1950.
He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and a 55 year member of American Legion Post 45 of Medford. He owned and operated the Brad Collins Agency in Medford for over 50 years, and was the Co-owner of the Collins - Rezendes Real Estate Appraisal Co.
Very active in his profession Brad was the Past President of Council G. Of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board and a Lifetime Realtor.
Also active in his community Brad was a former director of the Board of Investment for the Medford Savings Bank, a longtime Rotarian and recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship Award, former chairman of the Medford Housing Authority, former director and member of the Medford Chamber of Commerce and former member of the Salem St. Business Association. he also was a gifted muscian, playing trombone with the Big Band of Medford Inc. and various Big Bands in Florida.
Surviving in addition to his wife Marie, are three daughters Nancy Collins of Medford, Susan Rezendes and her husband Bill of Hobe Sound, FL., and Sally DiChiara and her husband Paul of Wilmington. Also many loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral mass will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Friends may visit Thursday from 3 thru 8, at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
