Robert "Carl" Dickey, Sr., 64, of Tifton died Friday, July 5, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Pastor Greg Love will officiate with a private burial to be held at a later date. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Dickey was born on May 25, 1949, in Jacksonville, Florida and was the son of James Rolin Dickey, Sr. and Mildred Americus Anderson Dickey, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Janet Roberts Dickey; one son, Robert Carl Dickey, Jr.; one brother; and one sister. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Tifton. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Dickey is survived by three sons, Terry Roberts, Jr., Shaun Dickey and Kevin Roberts, all of Tifton; three daughters, Dana Edmondson, Marion Roberts and Susan Roberts, all of Tifton; one brother James Rolin Dickey, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Ruth Charlene Davis of Jacksonville, Florida; and eight grandchildren.
