Ruth H. (Swenson) Chaput, passed away at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at the age of 85. She leaves her husband of 63 years, Alfred R. Chaput, Sr.; four children, Alfred R. Chaput, Jr., Pamela Chaput Tinsley, Scott Chaput, and Susan Chaput; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves three sisters, Gail, Claire, and Lorna. Six siblings predeceased her. Ruth was born in Worcester, daughter of Anna M. (Nordstrom) and Ernest Swenson. She a manager at the Sheraton Lincoln Hotel and was awarded for maintaining the cleanest rooms in Massachusetts. Ruth was also President (1978) of the Police Wives Association. She later became a licensed Real Estate Broker and ran Chaput Realty for many years before retiring. She loved arts and crafts. Ruth was a devoted wife, mom, and grandmother. She was known and loved by many because of her sweet and gentle personality.
Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street from 4-7 pm on Friday, July 5, and 9-10 am on Saturday, July 6. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am following the calling hour on Saturday. Burial will be at All Faiths Swedish Cemetery, Worcester. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
