Josephine M. DiPalma, a longtime resident of Woburn passed away peacefully on July 1st, at the Lowell General Hospital. She was 93. Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late John and Camella (Russo) Chiumenti. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent M. DiPalma.
Josephine worked for many years as a seamstress at the New England Regional Health Center in Woburn. She also worked as a salesperson at Sears for several years. Josephine was extremely devoted to her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and following all of their activities through the years. She also enjoyed reading, keeping up on current events, working on puzzles, and knitting. Josephine was very active at the Woburn Senior Center where she had many wonderful friends.
Josephine is survived by her children, Judith Fountas of North Hampton, NH, Robert DiPalma and his late wife Judy, of Wilmington, Lawrence DiPalma and his wife Ann of Chelmsford. She is also survived by six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Friday, July 5th, at 12:30 p.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and visit with family at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home prior to the mass from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment services will be private.
