Worcester- Michael J. “Budge” Foley, 96, of 11 Pattison St., died Monday, August 23, in his home.
His wife, Anna F. (Ankstitus) Foley, died in 1998. He leaves a son, Thomas F. Foley and his wife Dorothy of Millbury; a brother in law, Peter Ankstitus of Worcester; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nephews and nieces, including Richard and AnnMarie Chamberlain of Worcester. A son, John J. “Jack” Foley, died in 1993. He was predeceased by four brothers and four sisters. He was born in Worcester, son of Thomas F. and Margaret (Morrissey) Foley, and lived here all his life. He attended St. John’s High School.
Mr. Foley was a mail handler for the Worcester-Providence Railroad at Union Station for more than 45 years until it closed, retiring in 1973.
He was a member of Ascension Parish and a lifetime member of the Greendale Retired Mens Club.
The funeral will be held Thursday, August 26, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Ascension Church, 40 Vernon St. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, in the funeral home.
