Funeral Service in Pearl Street United Methodist Church 415 Pearl St. Brockton Friday at 11 am. The Rev. LaTrelle Easterling will officiate. Burial in Cowesset Cemetery. Visiting hours in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday 6-9 pm and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Obituary
Mrs. Bergeron died Sunday at her home following a lengthy illness. She was born in Boston and raised in Foxboro a daughter of the late Otis K. and Jean (MacLeod) Potter. She was a graduate of Foxboro High School Class of 1946. Mrs. Bergeron has been a resident of Brockton for the past 52 years and has wintered in Ft. Meyers, Florida for the past 20 years.
Mrs. Bergeron was a full time homemaker devoted to raising her six children. She always had a house full of pets and her door was always open to relatives and friends of her children. Her children said that she was the glue that held the family together and she maintained the addresses of hundreds of family members. She loved to take pictures and saw life through the lens of her camera. She and her husband took their children on extensive camping trips throughout the United States and Canada. She enjoyed traveling to Europe and Alaska with her husband and they hosted exchange students when their own children were grown. She had collected dolls from all over the world.
Mrs. Bergeron was a longtime member of the Pearl Street United Methodist Church where she had been a member of the choir and staff parish relations committee and the “official” photographer of church events.
In addition to her husband of 52 years she is survived by her six children Jean Russell of Brockton; Mark Bergeron of W. Springfield; Ralph Bergeron Kingston; Gail Cannata of Norton; Mary Procaccini of Lakeville and Paul Bergeron of Assonet.She also leaves 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandsonsShe is survived by one sister Adelaide Marcionette of Norfolk and two brothers Ralph Potter of Florida and Richard Potter of Attleboro.She was the aunt of over 60 nieces and nephewsShe was the sister of the late Kelton O. Potter and John E. Potter
