Wanda G. McFarland, 90, of Mystic died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Mystic Healthcare. She was born October 20, 1922 in Ligonier, PA, the daughter of Clair Chambers and Fannie (Jackson) Goodhart.
She was the wife of the late Captain M.C. (Mac) McFarland, a Submariner and longstanding Mystic resident.
Mrs. McFarland graduated from the University of Rochester as a Registered Nurse (RN) and was a former U.S. Naval Officer achieving the rank of LTJG.
She is survived by her children Bruce, Laurie, Scott, Jocelyn, Gregg and Sally; her grandchildren Rob and Kate, Ross, Jill and Lee, Brad and Cameron, Chris, Casey and Morgan, Allison and Scott, as well as great grandchildren Nolan, Collins and Harrison. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Dingman.
A Graveside Service with full military honors will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 11am at Elm Grove Cemetery, Route 27, Mystic.
