Obituary

Bernard "Berney" Sasser, 59, passed away June 21st in New Bedford, Ma. after a long illness. Born in Camp Polk, La. on November 23, 1953 to Robert and Alice (Sickles) Sasser, he lived his early years in Germany and Texas.
He worked for Exxon-Mobil for over 30 years as a welder and pipefitter on oil and gas pipeline projects throughout New England until his retirement. Prior to moving to New Bedford, Berney lived in North Grosvenordale Conn. with his family.
Berney was a constant reader who also loved music, running and cycling. Later he developed a passion for restoring and riding vintage British motorcycles and was for many years an active member of the Mass British Iron Association.
He leaves his loving son Matthew and his wife Jessica of Danielson Conn; grandchildren Joshua, Keagan, and Jessica Sasser of Pepperell, Ma. He is survived by his sister, Katie and her husband Roger Buck, nieces Sarah Sasser and Nina Sasser, and nephew Nathan Buck, and his former wife Lucy Bousquet.
Berney was predeceased by his sons Justin and Andy, and his sister Ruth.
