Obituary

Boylston - Eleanor G. (Keulian) Sauer, 79, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus following a short illness. She leaves her beloved husband, Oswald J. Sauer, to whom she was married for 57 years. She also leaves her children, Wayne Sauer and his wife Donna; Todd Sauer and his wife Jean; and Brenda (Sauer) O'Brien and her husband Scott all of Boylston; her sister Elizabeth Larkin and her husband Joseph of Boylston; five grandchildren, Amanda Barter and her husband Terry, Alison Sauer, Kristen Sauer, Jenna O'Brien and Cameron O'Brien; a great-grandson, Joshua Barter; and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late Paris (Tomajan) and George Keulian. Eleanor was a graduate of Commerce High School in Worcester. She was a very active member of her church and community. Eleanor frequently participated in the town's Senior Programs and First Congregational Church Women's Fellowship groups in Boylston. She and her family enjoyed spending time at their home in Maine, where Eleanor particularly enjoyed walks on the beach and spending time with family. She worked as the bookkeeper at the family business, Dosco Sheet Metal & Manufacturing of Millbury.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, June 30, from 4-7 pm at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester. The funeral will be held Monday, July 1, with an 11:00 am service in the First Congregational Church, 10 Church Street, Boylston. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Boylston or The American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
