Claude F. Singer

Claude Franklin Singer, 93, of Anderson, died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Millers Merry Manor in Chesterfield, following an extended illness.
He was born on October 25, 1919 in Vincennes, IN, the son of Claude F. Singer Sr. and Bess (Organ) Singer. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Vincennes and a 1942 graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at Purdue. On March 25, 1944 he married Elaine L. Bartling. He was employed in sales by Delco Remy in Anderson for 34 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Elks Lodge #209. He served in the US Navy on the USS West Point, earning a Victory Ribbon in WWII, and also was awarded the American Area, Asiatic Pacific and European African Ribbons.
Survivors include his two sons: Michael H. (wife Noel) Singer of Shell Lake, WI and Jeffrey J.( wife Janell) Singer of Chesterfield. 2 Grandchildren: Angela K.(husband, Richard) Vizier and Zachary J.(wife, Lisa) Singer, 2 great grandchildren: Gabriella and Sabrina Vizier, and other friends and family, including a special friend, Mary Hilda Carner.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine on January 13, 2007, and a son, Fred A. Singer.
Services will be on Thursday, June 27th, at 11:00 AM at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park. Visitation will take place from 9:30 AM until the service at 11 AM at the funeral home.
