Hélène R. (Brien) Plante, 85, of Manchester died June 18, 2013, at the Catholic Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
From Montréal, Québec, she was the daughter of Médéric and Blanche (Fleury) Brien. She was educated in the Montréal school system.
Hélène will be remembered as a true humanitarian. Her generous spirit includes countless personal donations of her time and treasury to the homeless, to victims of domestic violence, and to many charitable organizations. She enjoyed classical music, flowers, and the ocean, but her true passion was spending time with her cherished family.
Family members include her husband of 56 years, Victor W. Plante, of Manchester; her children, Jocelyne Pinsonneault and husband Marc of Manchester; Dr. Christiane Ackerson, D.A., and husband Peter of Amherst; Jacques Plante and wife Chantal of Bedford; Joseph Plante and wife Jacqueline of Southington, CT; and Anissa Plante and companion Dr. Robert J. Sitar, Ph.D., of Manchester. Hélène’s grandchildren include; Kristen Ackerson, Edward Cummings, Kate Pinsonneault, Caitlyn Cummings, Michael Cummings, Megan DeLuisa, Micayla Plante, Victoria Plante, Julie DeLuisa, Victor W. Plante II, Jack Plante, and great-granddaughter, Karliah Cummings. She leaves behind three sisters, Madeleine Galipeau, Carmen Tétreault and husband Norbert, Thérèse Plouffe, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at St. Raphael the Archangel Church, 103 Walker Street, Manchester, NH.
Committal prayers followed at the mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Road, Manchester, NH.
