Obituary

Ralph R. Southard, Jr., 81 of 807 Pleasant St. in the Rochdale section of Leicester, died Thursday Aug. 19 in St. Vincent's Hospital. He leaves his wife Vivian L. (Dumas) Southard, a son, David Southard of Worcester, a daughter, Janice Cellucci (Bart) of New Jersey, two brothers, Paul Southard (Frances) of Auburn and Walter Southard (Chong) of Rochdale, two step-sons, Gerald F. Jacques (Lucille) of Rochdale and Alan E. Jacques (Marilyn) of Sedrowooley, WA a step-daughter, Dorothy D. Eggleston (Robert) of Rochdale, 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by two brothers Bruce & Alvin Southard. Mr. Southard was born in Worcester son of Ralph R. and Rena (Tatro) Southard, Sr. He was a Track Inspector for 20 years at Conrail and previously worked at Carleton Woolen and Worcester Tool and Stamp. He served in the Army Air Corp. during WWII. He was a member of Greenville Baptist Church, a life member of American Legion post 205 in Rochdale and of 40 Voitures & 8 Cheveaux. He was an avid rock collector and hunter. Funeral services will be Saturday Aug. 21, at 11:00 AM in MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be from 9:30-11:00 AM Saturday.
