Theresa I. Gagnon, 89 of Salem, died Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Beverly following a brief illness.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emelie (Demeule) Gagnon. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy and attended secretarial school. For many years, Theresa work for the Boston & Maine Railroad first in Boston and later in Chelmsford. She was a member of the former St. Joseph Parish for many years and enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by two sisters, Lillian Gajewski of Beverly, Jacqueline Gagnon of Salem, a brother, Robert Gagnon and his wife Claire of Beverly, a sister-in-law, Florence Gagnon of Salem, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Anita Twarkins, Leona Drain, Doris E. Gagnon, Laura Mahoney & Antoinette Mackey, and her brothers, J. Arthur Gagnon & Clement Gagnon.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. to be followed by her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be private.
