Obituary

CATALANO, Patrick- of Chelsea, June 17th at 100 years of age. Devoted husband of the late Louise (Guarente). Beloved father of Patricia McHatton and her husband Leo A., Jr. of Chelsea and the late Marianne deBettencourt. Son of the late David and Mary (Iantosca) Catalano. Dear brother of the late Joseph, Andrew, Anthony, Ralph and George Catalano, Marion Fucillo, Jenny Bettencourt and Lillian Varricchio. Cherished grandfather of Kelli Silva of West Peabody, Nicole Browning and Michelle Bouchard both of Manchester, NH and Colleen McHatton of Boston. Also lovingly survived by his great grandchildren, Michael and Megan Silva, Patrick and Anna Browning and Sophia, Jospeh and Sarah Bouchard as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Michael the Archangel Chapel on the Campus of the Chelsea Soldiers Home, 91 Crest Avenue, Chelsea on Thursday, June 20th at 11 AM. Visitation wil be prior to the Mass in the Cardinal Cushing Pavilion beginning at 9:30 AM. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. It is recommended that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Pat's name be made to the Chelsea Soldiers Home, Patient Activity Fund, 91 Crest Ave., Chelsea, MA 02150.
Born in Boston and lifelong Chelsea resident, Patrick passed away Monday morning at the Chelsea Soldiers Home, where he had been a resident receiving wonderful supportive care from the staff, workers and administration for 7 years. One of the original founders of the Catalano Trucking Company, which is still in operation now, Pat retired from his position in the Company in 1973 to spend as much time as he could with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as with the many friends he made over his lifetime.
