Mary I. (Miranda) Cowen, 75, of Westport, unexpectedly passed away at home on Sunday, June 16, 2013. She was the wife of the late George W. Cowen, Jr.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Gil and Isabel (Torres) Miranda, she was a lifelong resident of Westport. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a Medical Secretary for the former Truesdale Hospital in Fall River. Mrs. Cowen was a communicant of St. George Church, Westport and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her 4 sons: George W. Cowen, III of Carver, MA, Alan G. Cowen of FL, Steven C. Cowen and Richard J. Cowen, both of Westport; 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Cheryl Cowen.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 8:00 A.M. from the Potter Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 9:00 A.M.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 P.M.
Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
