Mildred “Sue” Bishop, 78, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, August 19, 2004 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 21, 2004 at Evergreen Cemetery, with the Rev. Bobby Rodgers officiating. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00, Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bishop was born January 23, 1926, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Gray and Mary Lou Thomas Harper. She moved to Fitzgerald in 1964 from Manchester, Georgia, where she worked at the Playtex Garment Factory. She received her nurses training from Ben Hill-Irwin Technical School, retiring as an L.P.N. at Dorminy Medical Center. Mrs. Bishop was also a former employee of Fitzgerald Mills. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Bishop is survived by her husband: C.E. Bishop, Fitzgerald; three daughters: Margaret Banning, Springfield, MO, Ellen Thurman, Frisco, TX and Laura Greer, Fitzgerald; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one brother: Berry Harper, Montgomery, AL and one sister: Grace Storey, Manchester, GA. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Julia Bishop, three brothers and two sisters.
