Linda J. (Santos) Burgo, 53, of New Bedford died August 18, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long courageous battle with liver disease.
She was the fiancée of George "Gerry" Mello of New Bedford.
Born in Acushnet, daughter of the late Mary E. (Avila) Cummings and Alfred G. "Bozo" Santos, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Burgo was affiliated with the International Church of the Nazarene.
She enjoyed music, singing, dancing, walking on the beach and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her cat Mickey.
Survivors include her fiancé; 3 daughters, Michelle Harold, Heidi Burgo and Amy Burgo, all of New Bedford; 3 brothers, Alfred "Butch" Santos of Florida, Steven Santos of New Bedford and Frederick Santos of Rhode Island; 5 sisters, Ann Veator of Wareham, Doris Ramos of Florida, Alfreida DaCosta of Florida, Barbara Andrade of Rhode Island, and Flora Senna of New Bedford; 5 grandchildren, Stephanie Gomes, Chelsea and Brittany Harold, Saydi and Albert Cosme; her long time friend Jackie Silva.
She was the mother of the late Ronald Burgo and the sister of the late Irene Wheeler.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service in the International Church of the Nazarene, Monday, August 23rd at 10:30 AM, followed by burial in St. John's Cemetery.
Visiting hours at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, Sunday, August 22nd from 6-8 PM.
