Obituary

Priscilla Moulton Shafer, age 73, of Shewville Road, Ledyard, died at her home on August 18th after a long battle with Lyme Disease and Lou Gerhig’s Disease.

Mrs. Shafer was born in Dixfield, Maine, on August 26, 1930. Priscilla was the daughter of the late Helen Cummings Moulton Cyr and Frederick Moulton.

She enjoyed the home she and her husband, Herbert N. Shafer, built together in Ledyard, and working in her beautiful gardens.

Mrs. Shafer worked as a Recreation Director for Mystic Manor Convalescent home for several years before her retirement.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Roger, and his wife Betsy, of Ledyard, her brother, James Moulton and his wife Josephine of Groton, and two grandchildren, Ben Shafer and Charlie Shafer.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Everett Moulton and Arnold Moulton, and her sister Berniece Moulton Mumford.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at the Old Mystic Baptist Church, Shewville Rd, Old Mystic on Saturday at 11am. The Rev. Lisabeth M. Gustafson, Pastor, will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A reception will follow. There are no calling hours.
