Lois Martin Meeks of Douglas, Georgia, died June 8, 2013 at home following an extended illness. Mrs. Meeks was born September 9, 1927 in Bulloch County, Georgia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Fleming Martin.
Mrs. Meeks was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Calvin Stewart Meeks, and son, Martin Stewart Meeks.
Mrs. Meeks is survived by a son, Michael Calvin Meeks of Douglas, and one sister, Joann Wall of Sylvania, GA. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Martin Stewart Meeks, Jr and Jordan Fleming Meeks both of Douglas, Rev. Brandon Lewis Meeks (Mary Jane) of Mooresville,NC, Nicole Sayer of Broxton, GA, Eliason Meeks and Chancellor Meeks, both of Baxley, GA, step-grandsons Tyler Solomon and Ryan Solomon (Megan), both of Douglas; and four great-grandchildren, Brandon Lewis Meeks, Jr. and Eliana Rose Meeks, both of Mooresville, NC. , Kole McDaniel of Alamo, GA, and Hailey Meeks of Douglas, GA.
Services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Douglas, GA on Tuesday, June, 11 at 11:00AM, with Rev. Shep Johnson officiating. Interment will be at the Douglas City Cemetery.
