Obituary

Worcester, MA - Ahmed R. Siam, 83, passed away surrounded by loving family on Friday, June 7, 2013, at Saint Vincent Hospital. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Helga (Steuber) Siam of Worcester; two daughters, Mona Lehr of Worcester and Sharon Liberty and her husband Richard of Milford; a sister, Susan Cardin of Worcester; three brothers, Salih J. "John" Siam of Ohio, Mehmet Siam and his wife Phyllis of Virginia, and Abraham Siam and his wife Phyllis of Florida; six grandchildren, Thomas Morin, Jr., Matthew Morin, Mark Morin, Jonathan Lehr, Richard Liberty III, and Michael Liberty; four great-grandchildren, Ashlynn, Abbigail, Brayden, and Xalayn; as well as two very special little boys whom he loved as great-grandsons. He also leaves many grandnieces, and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Omer Siam and two sisters, Leila Pappas and Enise Latino.

Ahmed was born in Holyoke, MA, a son of Clementine (Martin) and Ahmed S. Siam. He was a graduate of The High School of Commerce and Worcester Junior College in Worcester. He was a WWII & Korean War Army veteran. He was a machinist and retired from the former R & A Machine Shop of Worcester. Ahmed enjoyed carpentry and leather work and was an avid bowler. He was past president of the Century Sportsman's Club in Auburn, where he also ran the pitch club and enjoyed playing Bingo.

A graveside service will be held at Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester on Flag Day, Friday, June 14, 2013 at 11 am. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Why Me & Sherry's House, 1152 Pleasant Street, Worcester MA 01602 or to the Massachusetts Veterans Shelter, 69 Grove Street, Worcester MA 01605. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street is directing arrangements.
