John E. Breedon, 77, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Saturday, August 14, 2004, at the Carl Vinson V.A. Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 19, 2004, at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Bobby Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Tift Memorial Gardens in Tifton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 until 9:00, Wednesday evening.
Mr. Breedon was born August 24, 1926, in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Vincent E. and Mary S. Hammock Breedon. He was a retired lift operator for Owen-Illinois Paper Company in Circleville, Ohio. He had lived in the community for the past 15 years and was of the Baptist faith. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II attaining the rank of Seaman First Class.
Mr. Breedon is survived by two sons: John E. “John” Breedon, Jr. of California and John C. Breedon of Irwin County; one daughter: Joyce Smith of Mesa, Arizona and Marry Kay of West Virginia; one brother: Vincent Breedon of Tampa, Florida; five grandchildren: Criss, Stacie, Chelsey, Rick and Andy; seven great-grandchildren: Andrew, Mark, Richard, Kayte, Daniel, Chance, and Dawson.
