Oscar Burns, 95, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Avalon Health Care in Lake City, Florida.
Graveside services will be held 10 AM, Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Enigma City Cemetery in Enigma, Georgia.
Mr. Burns was born April 6, 1918, in Berrien County to the late William Calvin “John” Burns and the late Pollie Boykin Burns. Mr. Burns had resided in Lake City, Florida, since the 1960’s moving from Atlanta, Georgia. He was retired from the Florida Department of Transportation, was a devout Christian and a member of the Lake City Church of God.
Mr. Burns is survived by his daughters: Olivia and Harold Blalock of Great Falls, Montana and Emily and Ben Hall of Calhoun, Georgia; two grandchildren: Harold Blalock, Jr. and Adam (Kimberly) Hall; five great-grandchildren; one brother: Joe Burns of Tifton and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Gladys Trowell and Myrtle Harper and one brother: Veston Burns.
