Russell Singleton, born September 20, 1924, passed away June 5, 2013. In Heaven he will join his wife, Zilpha where they will celebrate their 66th wedding anniversary in August. He will also join all of his siblings, Vance, Chester, Marvin, Lela, Harlen and James. Russell was a Marine Corps veteran of WWII, and a faithful member of Friendship Separate Baptist Church. The name of his contracting company was Golden Rule, which accurately describes his life philosophy. He is survived by his five children, Delbert (Diane), Barbara (Marvin), Robert Lynn, Keisha (Jessie), and Michael (Frieda), eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. His funeral will be 12pm Saturday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy, with burial at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 2pm to 8pm and after 11am on Saturday. Expressions of Sympathy may be made to Hosparus of Louisville, Alzheimer’s Association or the Friendship Separate Baptist Church.
