SPRINGFIELD – Lucine (Hasserjian) Loshkajian, 95, of Springfield was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, June 5, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at Wingate at East Longmeadow surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Aleppo, Syria on August 31, 1917, a beloved daughter of the late Setrak and Mariam Hasserjian. She moved to New Jersey around 1975 and then to Springfield in 1998. She was a communicant of Saint Gregory The Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church in Indian Orchard. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Avedis Loshkajian who was Called Home on May 6, 1969; and four brothers, Krikor, Sarkis, Paul and Albert. She leaves her loving children, George Loshkajian and his wife, Nora, of Saddle River, NJ, Hermine Charkoudian and her husband, Nahabed Leon Charkoudian, of Springfield, Seta Nalbandian and her husband, Khoren, of Tenafly, NJ, and Albert Loshkajian and his wife, Shelley, of Portola Valley, CA; her 10 cherished grandchildren; her seven cherished great-grandchildren; her brother, Puzant Hasserjian and his wife, Irma, and her sister-in-law, Tenny Hasserjian, all of Beirut, Lebanon; and her many nephews and nieces. Her family would like to thank the staff at Wingate at East Longmeadow and Baystate Visiting Nurse and Hospice for the excellent care they provided Lucine during her long journey home. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday morning, June 8, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Gregory The Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church, 135 Goodwin Street, Indian Orchard, MA 01151. Her burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA 01109. There are no visiting hours at the funeral home. Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
