FALL RIVER … Genevieve J. (Gosciminski) Major, 99, of Westport passed away June 4, 2013.
She was the widow of Edward Major.
She died at the Kindred Care Highlander in Fall River.
She was born in Fall River a daughter of the late Anthony and Constance (Krajewski) Gosciminski and lived there until moving to Westport in 1980.
She was employed as a Floor Lady with various mills until her retirement in 1962.
Mrs. Major was a communicant at St. Stanislaus Church, Fall River where she was a member of the Holy Rosary Solidarity until her death. She was a member of the Tiverton Volunteer Knitting and Quilting Club. She attended the Westport Senior Center for arts and crafts as well as other activities. She loved sports, especially tennis, which she played until she was 87. Genevieve enjoyed reading, playing cards, and was an avid bingo player. Her favorite pastime was dinning out with friends.
Survivors include a son Stephen and his wife Sharon (Keane) of Westport, a sister Irene Lewis of St. Petersburg, FL, a sister-in-law Theresa (Tomlinson) Gosciminski of Warwick, 2 grandchildren: Jennifer Major of Greenville, RI, Edward Major of Westport, a great grandson Zachary Major of Westport, 1 niece and 3 nephews.
Private services at the request of the family. Arrangements are by the BOYKO MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 709I Broadway, Fall River, MA.
