Chester J. Bizon, age 79, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born on May 15, 1934 in Chicopee. His parents were the late John and Stella (Wolowiec) Bizon. Chester was a communicant of the former St Patricks Church. Throughout his life he worked in the food industry; as a butcher and then for Sweet Life Food as a warehouse supervisor for 16 years and finally at Big Y in the deli department for over 17 years before he retired in 2008. He leaves his loving wife of 57 years, Beverly J. (Buskett) Bizon of Springfield; 2 sons Steven Bizon and his wife Darla of West Granby, CT and Peter Bizon and his wife Nancy of Belair, MD; 2 daughters, Annamaria “Cookie” Duval and her husband Robert of Suffield, CT and Karen Bizon of Springfield; 1 brother, Edward Bizon of Chicopee; 2 sisters, Helen Janocha of Chicopee and Evelyn Tenzar of Chicopee and his 11 beloved grandchildren, Lynn, Brian, Samantha, Jenny, Joseph, Thomas, Joshua, Bridget, Meaghan, Tori and Andrew. He is predeceased by his brothers Max and Edwin Bizon. Chester loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and one of his favorite pastimes was taking his grandchildren fishing and collecting memorabilia. A funeral home service will be held at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee, on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial in St Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and also on the morning of the funeral from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
