Colette J. "Kit" (Laliberte) Despres, 81, of Methuen, Massachusetts passed away on Friday, May 31st, 2013 at the Hospice House in Haverhill, Massachusetts surrounded by her family.
She was born on February 24th, 1932 in Lawrence, raised in Lawrence and Methuen by her parents the late Raymond and Colette (Charest) Laliberte. Kit was educated at St. Anne's School and also attended the Methuen Public Schools. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Saint Theresa Church in Methuen, MA. Kit worked for ITT Corporation until her retirement.
She was very involved with Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Saint Theresa Church, as she was a Eucharistic Minister and was in-tune with the day to day operations of the Church. She was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a very special lady and those whose lives she affected will never be the same without her. She could light up a room with her presence and had the ability to make a stranger feel like family within minutes with her kind words. She treated and loved everyone she came across like they were her own. According to her family, a close friend best described Kit as a person most people strive to be like or want to be around and anyone would be envious to receive the love she gave. If you were family you were clearly everything to her and it was very noticeable how much she truly, unconditionally loved you.
