Autilio C. DaSilva, 67, of New Bedford died June 4, 2013 at Beth Israel Hospital after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Maria (Lopes) DaSilva.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the son of the late Anicetro and Angelina (Correia) DaSilva, he lived in Brava before moving to New Bedford 17 years ago.
Mr. DaSilva was a parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Church.
He was formerly employed by Heat Transfer Company.
Mr. DaSilva was a member of the Bisca Club. He enjoyed dancing and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife; his 10 children, Maria Vieira, Domingas DaSilva-DeBrito and her husband Carlos, Auxilia Vieira and her husband Rui, Ildavina Silva, Deolinda Silva and Carlota DaSilva, all of New Bedford, Jorge DaSilva, Palmira DePina and her husband Joao, and Angela Barros and her husband Ildo, all of Brockton, Jason Rodrigues-DaSilva of Rhode Island; 2 sisters, Deolinda Santos and Maria Correia, both of New Bedford; 18 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Pedro DaSilva, Julio DaSilva and Irene Gomes.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Saturday, June 8th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday, June 7th from 4-8 PM.
