HAMPTON, NH - Thomas P. Mallahan, age 54, a member of a large and well known Tewksbury family, died Monday morning, June 3, at his Hampton Beach home, from an apparent heart attack.
He was born in Somerville, MA, December 4, 1958, one of eight children of John J. “Jack” and Anne R. (MacDonald) Mallahan, and raised in Tewksbury. He graduated from the Tewksbury Memorial High School with the Class of 1978. In high school he excelled in Varsity Track and Field, and participated in several other sports programs as well. He continued to enjoy sports into adulthood participating in adult softball leagues and soccer.
He worked at Dec-Tam Corporation, and then worked in the shipping and receiving department of Acme Printing Company in Wilmington.
Tom was described by his family as having a great lifelong love for nature and wildlife, and especially enjoyed the times he spent out doors. But his greatest joy was times spent with his loving daughters and two beautiful grandsons.
He is survived by two daughters, Meghan Jensen and her husband Michael of Billerica, and Brooke Mallahan of Tewksbury; two beloved grandsons, Michael and Kaden Jensen of Billerica; his former wife Cherilyn (Campbell) Conrad of Tewksbury; six brothers and sisters, John J. Mallahan Jr., Marguerite "Peggy" Morris, Maureen A Crowley and Joan L. Stanley and her husband, Robert, all of Tewksbury, James F. Mallahan and his wife, Christine (Holland) of Dover NH, Charles W. Mallahan of Billerica; and a dear aunt, Evelyn Taylor of Amesbury, MA; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was also brother of the late Joseph Mallahan.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated Tuesday, June 11, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury, followed by interment in Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the World Wildlife Fund, 1250 Twenty-Fourth Street, N.W., P.O. Box 97180, Washington, DC 20090-7180 or visit worldwildlife.org , will be appreciated.
