Obituary



Center Barnstead-----James W. Myers of Center Barnstead, N.H. and formerly of Milton and Winooski, Vermont, passed away June 2, 2013 at the VA Hospice Center in Manchester, N.H. after a long, hard fought battle with Parkinson’s.

Jim was born November 6, 1932 in Winooski, Vermont to Raymond and Irene (Barron) Myers. After high school, he enlisted in the U. S. Army and served in the Korean War. After his discharge, he spent most of his years working for the City of Winooski. In 1982, he became the Business Manager and Quartermaster for the V.F.W. Post in Winooski until Parkinson’s led him to retirement in 2010.

Jim leaves behind his wife, Pamela, and their two children, Jason Myers and his wife, Kathryn, and Ashley Myers Black and her husband, Benjamin, and the one person who could always make “PaPa’s” eyes light up, his grandson, Ryan James Black, and two, yet to be born, granddaughters; three brothers, Raymond, Gerald and Richard; two sisters, Jeannette Audette and Anne-Marie Dominique; a step brother and best friend, Bradley Mayo; two children from a former marriage, Sheryl Johnston and her husband, Joe, and Steve Myers and their children, Travis, Kyle and Sarah.

Pam, Jason and Ashley would like to thank two very special people, Mary Picard and “ City Steve” for always being there for “Boss Man,” also the VNA of Concord, N.H. and the Palliative Care Unit at the Veterans Hospital in Manchester.

A family graveside burial will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 9:00AM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, N.H.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Palliative Care Unit, 718 Smyth Road, Manchester, N.H. 03104.
