
Elaine A. Packer
Active Member of First Parish United Church of Christ
ROCHESTER, NH- Elaine A. (English) Packer, age 84, a longtime Rochester, NH resident, passed away at the Blaire House of Tewksbury, Mass. on Friday, May 24, 2013.
She was the beloved wife of the late Bailey Packer.
Born in Lawrence, MA on May 20, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Raymond W. English and the late Anne E. (Donahue) English.
Elaine was raised in Methuen, MA, attended Methuen schools and graduated from Methuen High School.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a Customer Service Representative by the former New England Telephone Company in Waltham, MA, where she worked for over 20 years. In addition, she was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
She was an active member of the First Parish United Church of Christ in Somersworth, NH, and a well known volunteer at the Rochester, NH Library and the Rochester Opera House.
She enjoyed numerous activities especially playing cards with her friends.
Elaine is survived by one son, John J. McNally and his wife Lucille; one sister, Diana Kimball and her husband Norman; one brother, Jack English and his wife Adrienne; four grandchildren, John and Robert McNally, Christine Parrington, and Nicole Roper; two great grandchildren, Jack McNally and Olivia Parrington. She is also survived by the children of Bailey Packer.
Elaine was the sister of the late Raymond English.
A memorial service was held in the First Parish United Church of Christ, 176 West High Street, Somersworth on Sunday, June 2nd, at 2 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the First Parish United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 228, Somersworth, NH 03878
