Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 9 am. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 10 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Obituary
Mr. Sheehy died Sunday at his home following a brief illness. He was born in Brockton, son of the late Edward M. and Helen (McGonnigle) Sheehy. He was a lifelong resident of Brockton and for many years he summered in South Harwich. He was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1952 and graduate of Harvard University Class of 1956. He received his MBA at Babson College in 1962. In 1999 he retired as a professor of accounting and related subjects at Bristol Community College in Fall River after almost 30 years. He served as Department Chairman during his tenure at the college. Previously he was a professor at Burdett College in Boston.
He enjoyed his 1930 Model A. Ford both working on it and driving his family down to the Cape. He has enjoyed working on cars since the age of twelve. Longtime communicant of St. Edward Church and Holy Redeemer Church in Chatham.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lois A. (Petrulis) Sheehy, a son, Edward M. Sheehy and his wife Janet of Franklin, a daughter Claire M. Akerman and her husband Stephen of Norton, five grandchildren, Maggie, Dennis and Thomas Sheehy, Kyle and Jillian Akerman and many nieces and nephews.
