Thomas Alaniz Pacheco
Our loving father, Thomas "Trigger" Alaniz Pacheco passed away on May 31st 2013 at the age of 85. Even though our hearts are broken we have comfort in knowing that he is with our Lord and Heavenly Father and that we will all be reunited again.
Dad was born to Jose and Torivia Pacheco in Santa Paula, living in Ventura most of his life. He worked in construction labor for local 585 for many years. Many of the streets, bridges and freeways that we use daily, he helped build, He also worked in the agriculture field for which he had a deep knowldge.
After retiring, Dad found new interests and hobbies. he enjoyed gardening, which brought him a new fondness for birds, who would visit him daily for a snack. He loved working with wood and other materials that he came across, making many gifts and treasures for his family. His daily walks at the park were revitalizing and would provide him with a story to tell of what he saw or who he spoke with that morning. Dad loved to visit the casino, as he was generally pretty lucky and if he couldn't make it to the casino, a game of Pokeno with the family would be just as enjoyable. a car enthusiast for most of his life resulted in a wonderful collection of classics. but nothing gave him greater joy than to be surrounded by his family for any reason, be it barbeques, dinners or holidays, celebrating life's great milestones and achievements or just stopping by for a visit. His family was his heart.
Those who knew our Dad, recall that he had a great and playful sense of humor, always finding something to laugh about. we can't recall a day that he didn't laugh and make jokes even if they were at someone else's expense...he had a wicked sense of humor at times.
Dad is lovingly remembered by sisters: Susie Saenz, Frances Aguilar; Brothers: Johnny and Tony Pacheco; Grandson: Tony "Mijo" Swanks and his former wife and our loving Mom, Anna Marie Loffswold. Even though they parted ways, the remained good friends.
We wish to thank all those that have called or stopeed by to share their stories of how our Dad touched their lives. We will hold these precious gifts in our hearts.
