Carol A. Morrison, 77, of Derry, NH, died Wednesday May 29, 2013 in the Parkland Medical Center in Derry. She was born in S. Weymouth, MA on February 21, 1936, a daughter of the late William M. and Cecilia A. (Hayes) Gallahue. Carol had been a resident of Derry since 1960, formerly living in S. Weymouth, MA. She was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy, Class of 1953 in Derry, and a graduate of Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA, Class of 1956. Carol had been employed at various hospitals and institutions in Southern NH, retiring from Birchwood Nursing Home in Derry after 20 years. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry.
Carol is survived by her husband Robert C. Morrison of Derry; one son, Robert C. Morrison, II of Grand Junction, CO; four grandchildren, Adam Butterworth, Timothy Butterworth, Joshua Morrison, and Jessica Morrison; one sister, Elizabeth Crawford of Hanover, MA; one brother, James C. Gallahue of Plymouth, MA; one aunt; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Laureen Butterworth in 2007.
Following cremation, calling hours were held on Tuesday, June 4th from 1 - 4pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A memorial service followed at 4:00pm in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the East Northwood Cemetery in Northwood, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pinkerton Academy Alumni Center, 5 Pinkerton St., Derry, NH 03038.
