Obituary

Mr. Armand P. Michaud, a lifelong resident of Lawrence and beloved husband of 67 years to Mary Louise (Bomba) Michaud, passed away Tuesday morning, May 28, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was 88 years old.
Born in Lawrence on December 26, 1924, he was the son of the late George and Angelina Michaud. Armand was a graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1942 and also attended the Bryant McIntosh School of Business. Mr. Michaud was a WWII Navy veteran and received his honorable discharge from Boston on September 23, 1952. While serving in the military, Armand attained the rank of Seaman, First Class and was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal and the European African Theatre Medal for his exemplary service. He had seen action at the Battle of the Bulge and was also a qualified Carbine Marksman. In civilian life, Mr. Michaud established Bedard & Michaud Insurance Agency in Lawrence where he owned and operated the business for over 30 years. 
Armand’s greatest joy was spending time with his family.  He shared many memorable times walking the beach or playing games with his children and grandchildren.  Armand loved the Lord.   He visited more than 20 nursing homes on a regular basis where he would sing and read bible scripture, sharing his passion with others . He also developed a Friday night ministry where he cooked and fed the homeless at the Salvation Army in Lawrence and shared scripture readings. In his spare time, Mr. Michaud enjoyed bowling and golfing with his friends as well as  playing cribbage. He was an avid sportsman for his entire life and especially enjoyed watching the Red Sox and the Patriots. When he was just a youngster, he won the local marble contest in which he won a trip to a Red Sox game. He also published a small newspaper entitled “Jesus Salvation News”.
Besides his beloved wife, Mary Louise, he will be very sorely missed by his loving children; Douglas and his wife Patricia Michaud of Walpole, Paul and his wife Carolyn Michaud of Sarasota, Florida, Lawrence and his wife Deborah Michaud of North Andover, Rob Michaud of Salem, New Hampshire, Cindy Michaud of Haverhill, Sandra and her husband Thomas Ruscak of Methuen, Trudy and her husband William Lawler of Hooksett, New Hampshire and Timothy and his wife WeeNee Michaud of Medford, siblings; Alice Cheshire of Citee, Florida and Frances Cirrincione of Naples, Florida, eighteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Henry, Wilfred and Jerry Michaud and Claire Grant.
His funeral was held from the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 10 AM, followed by a graveside service in St. Mary Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence, at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends are respectfully attended. Calling hours were held on Friday, May 31, 2013, from 4 to 7 PM, followed by a brief service at 7 PM.
